Trilogy Ambassador, President of the Garden Club and unofficial Trilogy Orlando Socialite — Marie D’Amato has been a member of Trilogy Orlando since 2006; and as she tells it, it seems her life has only gotten better!

Since moving to Trilogy Orlando from New York, Marie has constantly been amazed by the ideal combination of relaxation and engagement.  For her quiet afternoons, she can find peace and tranquility in her home garden, but the ability to quickly connect is always at her fingertips.  The experience has been life changing.

“I’ve become more relaxed. I certainly have checked things off my bucket list and even done other things I didn’t know I would want to do. At Trilogy, you simply have more fun…some people even learn to have more fun and to stop to smell the roses.” Marie chuckled knowing the irony of her statement, being the Garden Club president.

Marie runs the Trilogy Orlando’s garden club, which started as a way for neighbors to share their love of gardening, collaborate on best practices, and, more importantly, get to know one another. Marie is like many of Trilogy’s active members who have embraced the down time after retirement to fulfill their lifetime dreams, hobbies, passions and goals.

“We have all sorts of great things to do. In fact, I joke with the activities director that I need to get a maid because I don’t have time to clean my house with everything I am doing now. Truthfully, there are so many activities that you don’t have to leave the community to have fun. But, if you did have to go out, there is plenty to do too.  It’s completely up to you.”

Being a member of the community is not just about the activities, but also the people around you. As Marie explains, “I became a master gardener, which I couldn’t have done if I was working, and I have also become more involved. Living in this community, you become more social because we’re all so close. I feel this community is a gentler, nicer way to live. It’s not only beautiful, but the people are very friendly.

“I am very grateful that I do live here, because I can’t think of a better way to live. My favorite way to describe my community is ‘Home Sweet Resort!’”

At Trilogy, we couldn’t agree more.
